Its like dreams got wheels, India's first cheapest & smallest car is on the road now !!! The much-awaited Nano hit the roads on Friday (17 Jul) with Mumbaikar Ashok Raghunath Vichare becoming the first owner of the world’s cheapest car from the stable of the Tatas. Though it is on the roads of Mumbai but Delhites need not to worry soon it will be on the roads of Delhi too. No doubt this small car will fulfill the dream of a common man of owning a car, but it will adversly affect the roads in terms of traffic, which is already a very tough task to resolve.
Nano was commercially launched on March 23 this year. It has received 2.06 lakh bookings. Tata Motors has already selected over 1.55 lakh customers for delivering the car, of which the first one lakh cars are price-protected.
The 623-cc rear-engine car boasts a fuel economy of over 23 km per litre.Nano carries a price range of Rs. 1.23 lakh to Rs 1.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the three different variants.
